<p>If your company doesn't have a social media presence yet, it's about time you start. No matter what industry you're in, many of your current and potenial customers participate in social networking.</p><p>The latest reports say Facebook now has over 500 million users. By creating a free facebook page and posting your companies news, pictures and updates, you can be tapping into that market for little to no cost.</p><p>Take a look at some of the companies that have been sucessfull with social media:</p><p>Coca-Cola's facebook page has over 8 million fans. The fans connect with eachother and the company, get insights on deals and new products, view and share videos and photos- all while Coke stays fresh in their minds.</p><p>Comcast was having trouble with customer service and getting very bad publicity for it. They hired a &quot;Twitter Guru&quot; named Frank Eliason to lead their social media efforts and correct the problems. He started using Twitter to interact with customers and solve their problems or answer their questions. <p>This is the third consecutive year Liquid has been recognized. Liquid received a Gold Award in the Business to Business Category for their work on the Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products &ldquo;Design With Torlon&reg;&rdquo; web site (<a href="http://www.designwithtorlon.com/" target="_blank">www.designwithtorlon.com</a>); a Silver Award in the Flash Category for the Mack Trucks web site (<a href="http://www.macktrucks.com/" target="_blank">www.macktrucks.com</a>) and a Bronze Award, also in the Flash Category, for their work on the Bills Khakis Pub web site (<a href="http://www.billskhakispub.com/">www.billskhakispub.com</a>).</p><p>Liquid&rsquo;s work was recognized from among entries from around the world. Criteria for judging included solution creativity and originality; overall graphic design, appearance and user experience; communication of message; technical merit; and effectiveness of the solution. A panel of judges of industry professionals selected the winners.</p><p>&ldquo;Our clients understand the need for creativity and expertise when executing sites like these,&rdquo; said Doug Mancini, managing director at Liquid Interactive. &ldquo;These sites are sophisticated and energetic. The sites communicate with consumers and they are solutions for our clients that make sense and help them reach their goals. We are delighted to work on projects of this caliber, and even more delighted to be recognized for work that is exciting to do.&rdquo;</p><p>The Horizon Interactive Awards is considered one of the most prestigious international competitions recognizing outstanding achievement among interactive media producers. This year, more than 2,000 entries from 32 countries were received. The awards are given to winners in 19 different categories which include Flash, entertainment, video games and business to business.</p><p>Liquid won two silver Horizon Interactive Creative Awards in 2008 for their work on the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission web site (<a href="http://www.drjtbc.org/" target="_blank">www.drjtbc.org</a>), in the Public Service/Non-Profit category, and the Just Born Marshmallow PEEPS&reg; Holiday web site (<a href="http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/" target="_blank">www.marshmallowpeeps.com</a>), in the Flash category.</p>    ]]>
